CPI, CPI(M) to stage picketing on Nov 18 for demands

The Communist Party of India(CPI) and Communist Party of India(Marxist)CPI(M) will jointly stage a picketing all over Puducherry on November 18 to press for their demands, including provision of 15 essential commodities through ration shops.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at a One Day Right to Food' security conference here today. Another resoution urged the Central and State Governments to impose a ban on 'Forward Trading' to contain price rise.

Resolutions urging the Puducherry administration to procure food grains through Puducherry agricultural products and Civil Suppies Corporation and sell it to the public, to streamline the distribution of ration cards, provision of 15 essential commodities through the ration shops as in Kerala, implementation of Re one per kg rice scheme, were among others, adopted in the conference.
