CPI(ML) aims to re-chart communist revolution
Bhopal | Thursday, Nov 5 2009 IST

Aiming to re-chart communist path of revolution and formulate strategy against 'neo-colonisation', the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) will organise a five-day All India Special Conference of the party here from November 8.

CPI (ML) Central Secretary K N Ramachandran told reporters here today that 400 delegates from 16 states would participate in the conference and the party would also organise a massive rally and public meeting on November 7, the Bolshevik Revolution Day, in the state capital here.

Mr Ramachandran said an international seminar on neo-colonialism would also be held on November 9 to discuss the role of communists in the international forum to combat the emerging neo-colonisation all over the world and re-buidling of communist international. A large number of overseas delegation would also take part in the seminar, he added.

''The conference will discuss the counter-revolutionary offensive by the Centre and the state governments and chalk out plans to counter it by mobilising the working class and all oppressed masses along with the progressive democratic forces,'' Mr Ramanchandran informed.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, the central secretary said ''the conference will expose and oppose the declaration of the Centre that 'Naxalism is the main danger' and its reactionary moves to suppress the people of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orissa in the name of suppressing 'Maoists', even deploying military and air force.'' He said by saying so the leaders had insulted naxalite agitation.

He, however, opposed the so called 'Maoist' movement, saying they were deviated from Mao's ideology and termed them as 'terrorist', who were creating anarchy in the country. The Centre should know the difference between naxalism and the present brand of Maoists, he added.

The veteran CPI (ML) leader also criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for giving permission to Posco, the South Korean steel giant to build a mega steel plant with a dedicated port in Orissa's Jajpur district, which would be inaugurated by South Korean premier on January 2 next year. He said by doing so, the UPA government had given open licence to the south Korean caompany to exploit huge iron ore reserve from Jajpur district and said it was nothing but a move to transform this mineral-rich region to hunting ground for MNCs and corporate houses.
