Samsung 'Star' sales cross 10 mln mark in six months
New Delhi | Thursday, Nov 5 2009 IST

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd today said its sale of touch-screen mobile phone 'Samsung Star' has surpassed 10 million units in six months.

The Star hit the five-million unit mark in four months, selling 700,000 units in May and 900,000 units in June, before jumping to 1.6 million and 1.7 million units in July and August respectively.

Its monthly sales surpassed two million units in September and October, the company said in a statement. In India, since its launch in May 2009 the phone averagely contributes over 60 per cent of the company's touch screen sales on a monthly basis.

Across Europe, where it was first launched, Star has sold five million units in total, it added.
