India No clearance for stadium yet,18 days left for Indo-Lanka match
Hardly three weeks are left for the second Test match between Sri Lanka and India to be played at the Green Park stadium here but the venue has not yet been handed over to the organizers. This shows the cold attitute of the state government towards sports that the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) is sill waiting for the approval of the State Sports Directorate to take the Green Park stadium on rent. According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) programe, the second Test between Sri Lanka and India is scheduled here on November 24. Both teams are reaching here by November 21 and thus UPCA and Green Park authorities have left with less than 15 days to prepare. UPCA joint secretary(admin), Premdhar Pathak told UNI here today that just after the match scheduled, association had written a letter to the Green Park Authorities for taking stadium on rent but did not get any response as yet.
