Court acquits AIADMK Member in FERA case
Chennai | Thursday, Nov 5 2009 IST

The Economic Offences Court II at Egmore in Chennai today acquitted AIADMK Rajya Sabha Member, T T V Dinakaran, from all charges in a Fera Exchange Regulation Act(FERA) case, filed by the Enforcement Directorate(ED) of its wing.

While acquitting Mr Dinakaran, Judge Jayachandran said, the prosecution failed to prove the charges.

The case was registered by the ED in 1996, alleging that Mr Dinakaran had transferred several crores of rupees abroad, without seeking permission from the Reserve Bank of India(RBI).
