India Former Ministers wife booked in vigilance case
Himachal Pradesh Vigilance and Anti-corruption bureau has booked Kalavati, wife of former minister Mansa Ram, in a case along with two officials over a case of illegal green felling. Himachal Pradesh IG of V&AB SR Mardi told UNI that a case has been registered by Vigilance Police Station Shimla against the wife of the former minister Mansa Ram. He said the case pertains to illegal cutting of trees for constructing a house at Strawberry Hill in Chota Shimla. He said two other officials have also been booked in the case. Official said as five-storey building is in the name of the former minister's wife Kalavait, an FIR has been registered against her. Mansa Ram remained a minister in the Dr YS Parmars government and a cabinet minister in Prem Kumar Dhumals previous BJP-HVC coalition government in 1998-2003. This issue in which the case has been registered had figured in chargesheet brought out by Congress against the then government and had submitted before the governor in the past.
