CII Chief Mentor Tarun Das steps down
New Delhi | Tuesday, Nov 3 2009 IST

After his 35 years' association with the apex industry body, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) chief mentor Tarun Das has stepped down.

Mr Das, 70, will now spend most of his time on international relationship building and matters related to domestic development, the CII said in a statement.

He assumed the role of the CII's Chief Mentor in 2004 after spending 26 years as Director General.

After Chandrajit Banerjee succeeded Mr Das as the Director General, Mr Das kept guiding the CII during the last five years.
