Explosive suppliers arrested

Police today arrested three carriers of explosives linked to the top-rung maoist ultra Kunda Pahan from Nawadih vilage under Bundu police station in the district.

Mohammad Zuber, a native of Khunti, Mohammad Guddu and Hemnat Kumar (both from Asansol) were arrested while they were going in a private car in Nawadih village.

Senior Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar told newspersons here that twenty packets each containing 125 gram of gilletin and two bundles of fuse wire, mainly used in manufacturing of land mines and other explosives, were recovered from their possesion.

''During interrogation they admitted that they were working for Md Arif, a native of Raghunathpur in Purulia district of West Bengal who was the kingpin of explosive suppliers group to the dreaded ultra.

Mr Kumar said that Arif was wanted in several other cases.

''He was also involved in supplying explosives in Giridih and Hazaribagh,'' Mr Kumar said.
