The 250-odd items displayed at the museum, chronicle the evolution of packaging in the 20th century and describe the change that has taken place in the world of consumer goods packaging. The museum has on display, various items collected right from small villages in Assam to countries as far as South Africa, a release said here today. Announcing the decision to throw open the museum for public viewing, Vimal Kedia, Managing Director, Manjushree Technopack said the collection in the Museum has attracted FMCG brand managers, packaging technologists and packaging enthusiasts, who have obvious interests in tracking trends in packaging over a long period of time. "But what we have here is also a slice of history; old enough to evoke nostalgia and recent enough for visitors to relate to. I hope that we get a lot of Bengalureans to visit the museum and enjoy the packaging heritage on display," Mr Kedia added.

The museum boasts of the oldest products and packaging designs of brands such as Philips, Ronson, Coca Cola, Amulspray and Britannia; Gramophone records packed in two-colour printed paper board, tin cases of Cadbury Fry chocolate and Agfa camera in leather cases, among others.

The Museum was declared open by R D Udeshi, President, Polyester Chain, Reliance Industries Limited in the presence of a gathering, that included, Ramesh Chauhan, Chairman and Managing Director, Bisleri International, the release added.
