India Farmers committing suicide due to drought in UP
The Communist Party of India (CPI) today claimed that so far seven farmers have committed suicide due to drought and debt-burden in Uttar Pradesh. Charging the central and the state government with having flaw policies to tackle the drought problem, CPI state secretary Dr Girish said the farmers are worst affected in this situation. So far, seven cultivators, three in Lalitpur, two in Mahoba, and one each in Etawah and Hathras, have ended their lives due to drought and debt-burden, he claimed. The results would worsen, if the situation was not controlled on time, the CPI leader added.
