Trio breaks Limca book of world record of fastest west-to-east-India drive
Chandigarh | July 05, 2009 9:41:49 PM IST

An adventure-loving trio from Chandigarh broke the Limca Book of World Record of fastest driving by covering the distance between Koteshwar in Gujarat and Tezu in Arunanchal Pradesh in 85 hours beating the earlier record of 119 hours.

The three record holders Bhalinder S Sangha, Harinder S Sidhu and Karanbir Bedi covered the distance of 3941 Kilometres across the breadth of the country to establish this new record.

"Recipe of success for us was that all of us ...put in lot of hard work. We had trust in each other's capabilities. It was a team game..it was not like one driver was driving all the time. Three of us were driving and we had to create a momentum and maintain the momentum. All of us are adventurers, hardcore adventurers and challenge excites us," said Harinder S Sidhu.

They travelled from the western most tip of India to the country's Eastern most tip and covered the whole journey in exact 84 hours and 52 minutes making a new world record.

They also maintained a route map provided by Limca Book of World records and got themselves logged at junctures recommended under Limca Book parameters.

"The points which were given they were not national highways, we used to go through state highways because Limca Book of Records have given us a log book and they have given us some points and we have to touch those points. We have to get one log book detailed..log book filled from there," said Bhalinder S Sangha.

They will now try and establish a Limca book of world record by traveling fastest from India's Northern most tip to its Southern most. (ANI)
