'Shiney Ahuja's maid was raped,' says NCW chief
New Delhi | July 04, 2009 7:40:34 PM IST

The National Commission for Women (NCW) chief Girija Vyas said here on Saturday that Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja's 18-year-old maid categorically stated that she was raped by the actor.

"When we had talked to the girl in Mumbai, she had categorically stated that she was raped," said Girija Vyas.

However, Vyas refused to make any comment on the claim made by Shiney Ahuja that he had consensual sex with the victim.

"Even the medical and the DNA reports proved that she was raped. But now I cannot say anything as the case is in court," she said.

Earlier, an NCW team, including Vyas, had rushed to Mumbai to meet all the parties concerned, including the victim and her family members.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan had announced that the case would be committed to a fast track court soon to ensure speedy justice. (ANI)
