White to lead Australia A in home series against Pakistan A
Melbourne | Monday, Jun 1 2009 IST

All-rounder Cameron White will lead the 17-member Australian A squad during the home series against Pakistan A, starting later this month at Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville.

Both teams were scheduled to play two four-day matches, three ODI's along with a Twenty20 game.

Western Australia's Adam Voges will be the vice-captain of the team which also features the injured Shaun Tait, Shaun Marsh and Brett Geeves.

Cricket Australia's selection committee chairman Andrew Hilditch said the squad was selected considering the players' last year's performance in the domestic season. ''The NSP has, with view to the future of Australian cricket, selected a very young squad to play both the four-day and one-day games,'' Hilditch said in a CA statement. ''The selection recognises the performances of these young talented players in the domestic season last year whilst concentrating on those players we have identified as having the ability to play a significant role in the development of Australian cricket in the future,'' he added.
