Second seed Gutta Jwala and Shruti Kurien kept Indian flag flying high entering mixed double final of India Open Grand Prix badminton being played here. Indian duo crushed Jien Guo Ong and Sook Chin Chong of Malaysia 21-12, 21-12 in the first semifinals. They now meet third seed Indonesian pair of Flandy Limplele and Vita Marissa today. While Flandy and Vita defeated Indonesian pair of Tantowi Ahmed and Puspita Richi Dili 21-10, 21-19 in the second semifinals. Earlier third seed Indian pair Gutta Jwala and Shruti Kurien lost to Vita Marissa and Nadya Melati of Indonesia 17-21, 9-21. While Chinese pair of Jin Ma and Xiaoli Wang defeated Jo Novita and Endang Nursugianti of Indonesia 21-9, 21-6 in the second semifinals. Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia would meet 10th seed Hafiz Hashim of Malaysia in the men's singles title clash. Hidayat crushed compatriot Tomy Sugiarto in the semifinals 21-13, 21-11, while Hafiz won a hard-fought semis against Chen Long of China 21-18, 19-21, 21-15. Top seed Hongyan Pi of France would face fifth seed Julia Pei Xian Wong of Malaysia in the women singles final. While Hongyan defeated sixth seed Yu Hirayama of Japan 21-7, 21-14, fifth seed Julia Pei Xian Wong won a hard-fought secong semifinal against Beiwen Zhang 19-21, 21-13, 21-15. Top seed Malaysian pair Tan Fook Chong Oong and Wan Wah Lee would meet Hendri Kurniwan Saputra and Hendra Wijaya of Indonesia in the mens double final. Tan Fook Chong and Wan Wah Lee crushed fifth seed Joko Riyadi and Candra Wijaya 21-6, 22-20.
