'LetsVote' Movement Pledge to Vote 5k Walk on Apr 5 Hyderabad | Monday, Mar 16 2009 IST
Members of the 'LetsVote' movement would organise a 'Pledge to Vote 5k Walk' on April 5 here to enlighten the people on the elections for Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly . Convener of the movement J A Chowdary, in a statement said as the coming general elections were very crucial for the country, its objective was to create awareness in everyone and motivate them to franchise their right. 'No vote no right', he said. He said statistics revealed that participation of youth and educated masses has declined over the years. Hence, the mission would campaign to engage and build the power of educated masses and the youth to actively involve in the high powered democratic process to fulfill the rightful act of utilising it. The movement was launched by the Hyderabad Chapter and the Citizens of Hyderabad in December last year. -- (UNI) -- 16MS47.xml
