42 kids ill

Forty-two children were taken ill today after consuming jatropha (ratanjot) seeds at this district's Madanpur village. The victims were admitted to the Patthalgaon Health Centre. ''The kids, from the first to the fifth classes, consumed fruits after plucking them from saplings growing in the school's vicinity. They vomitted during classes later,'' said Headmistress Shanti Singh. The guardians were immediately summoned. Dr J Minj said that all the children were out of danger. -- (UNI) -- 17DR68.xml
