Kerala to organise 'Ente Nadu' from December 23
Thiruvananthapuram | Tuesday, Oct 21 2008 IST

Kerala Government is organising 'Kerala Tourism Ente Nadu', an exclusive Meet to bring together Non - Resident Keralities from across the world on December 23 and 24 at Kochi, State Home and Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said today.

Talking to newspersons here, the minister said the object of organising the Meet here was to make them partners across the world for the development of Kerala Tourism.

Stating that the intention of the Government was to make the Non Resident Keralities the brand ambassadors of the State, he said the priority of the scheme would be to force their friends and colleagues to choose Kerala as their tourist destination.

Besides, the Government had planned to increase the flow of tourists from Gulf countries, Mr Balakrishnan said and added that the project was organised jointly by the Tourism and the Industries Department.

Pointing out that about 25 lakh Keralities were working outside the State, Mr Balakrishnan said through Ente Nadu initiative the Government was facilitating them to invest in the tourism sector as well as bringing more tourists to the State.

The Government was also planning to ensure the participation of Non-Resident Keralities in public-private joint ventures in the State and it would locate the areas possible for starting such ventures, the minister said and added that the Government would help them convert their houses into home-stay facilities.
