Former footballer Chandan Singh Rawat passes away

Former footballer Chandan Singh Rawat, who was a member of the gold medal winning Indian Team at the Asian Games 1950 and represented country at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952, passed away in Darjeeling.

Rawat, who was passed yesterday, also played for Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Rajasthan Club in Kolkata in the 50's. AIFF President PR Dasmunsi and General Secretary Alberto Colaco have condoled his death and coneveyed their heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and described his death as a big loss to Indian football.
