Fire creates panic among devotees of Amman Temple Puducherry | Tuesday, Jul 8 2008 IST
Devotees of the Amman Temple at Thattanchavady panicked and escaped from the temple following a fire in the temple today. According to police, the renovation work at the temple was presently going on and for the purpose the Gopurams(tower) were covered with thatched sheets.The sheets caught fire creating panic among the devotees. Fire tenders from D Nagar fought the fire for about half an hour and brought the flames under control.Police registered a case and investigation is on to find out the cause for the fire. -- (UNI) -- 08MR14.xml
