AIE to launch daily flight in Kozhikode-Kuwait sector from Jul 14

The public sector budget airliner Air India Express (AIE) will launch daily flight operations in Kozhikode-Kuwait sector from July 14, 2008.

However, Air India would cease its thrice-a-week operations in the sector from the same date, said an AI release here.

As per the schedule announced, on Tuesdays and Saturdays the airline will depart Karippur International Airport at 1935 hrs via Sharjah and reach Kuwait at 2305 hrs local time. On the return leg it will depart from Kuwait at 0005 hrs local time and reach Karippur at 0845 hrs the following day.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, it will operate via Cochin and Sharjah departing Karippur at 1805 hrs to reach Kuwait at 2305 hrs local time. On the return it would depart Kuwait at 0005 hrs and reach Karippur via Sharjah and Cochin at 1010 hrs the following day.

It would operate via Mangalore and Sharjah on Thursdays and Sundays, departing Karippur at 1805 hrs to reach Kuwait at 2305 hrs and depart Kuwait at 0005 hrs and reach Calicut via Sharjah and Mangalore at 1010 hrs local time, the release said.

The release said passengers holding valid Air India tickets for the sector have the option to travel on the same ticket on Air India Express.

They also have the option to endorse their tickets for travel on another carrier or request for a refund of their ticket from the point of issue, the release added.
