MP violence: Cong state chief speaks to Patil
Bhopal | Friday, Jul 4 2008 IST

In view of the ''communal violence'' in Madhya Pradesh, Congress state President Suresh Pachouri today urged Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to take necessary steps to restore normalcy, party sources said.

In a telephonic conversation, Mr Pachouri said, ''communal violence is spiralling at Indore and some other places. I urge you to have a discussion with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and send paramilitary forces personnel if there is a need.'' Mr Pachouri told UNI that the Minister assured that necessary steps would be taken. ''The situation is not under control at Indore and Ujjain. The administration is unable to protect every citizen,'' he alleged.
