'Varuna Japam' to appease rain god Tirumala | Friday, Jul 4 2008 IST
The five-day 'Varuna Japam' conducted by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) began at Parvatimandapam in Tirumala today. The 'Japam' begun by chanting of Vedic mantras, was being conducted to invoke the rain God to bless the land and for the well-being of mankind and the five-day event will be concluded with 'purnahuthi'.
