Major fire in ICICI residential quarters in Prabhadevi
Mumbai | Thursday, Jun 19 2008 IST

A major fire broke out in the under-construction residential quarters of ICICI bank at Standard Mill compound in the crowded area of Prabhadevi here today.

About eight fire engines were pressed to douse the fire, Chief Fire Officer Mumbai fire brigade, Anil Sawant said.

As soon as the building caught fire in the evening, the workers were made to vacate, he said. However, Mr Sawant did not rule out the chance of a few workers being trapped inside the building, as many are still not traceable.

The fire is now under control, but its cause is yet to be ascertained, Mr Sawant added.
