Tarang Software forays into Saudi Arabia
Bangalore | Thursday, Jun 19 2008 IST

City-based Tarang Software Technologies (Tarang), a leading Point of Sale (PoS) and mobile payment solutions provider, made its foray into Saudi Arabia by finding its first EMV customer Riyadh headquartered Intersoft, a specialised provider of PoS solutions.

EMV is Europay Mastercard Visa Integrated Chip Card Standard to ensure secure PoS payment transactions.

Intersoft has partnered with Tarang to develop and certify SPAN II application on MagIC terminal. SPAN II is the latest specification for implementing EMV Level II in Saudi Arabia and it is mandatory for any payment application on PoS/ATM to comply with this specification, Tarang said in a release here. Tarang Founder and CEO V Rama Kumar said ''Tarang's leadership in Payment Technologies is once again strongly established. EMV is the way to go for PoS solutions across Middle East, India and Europe. I am happy that Tarang is at the forefront once again.'' ''Tarang, which has achieved a turnover of USD 5 million last fiscal, expects to achieve a turnover of USD 7 million this financial year'' Mr Kumar said. Ammar Al-Qadi, Owner and General Manager, Intersoft said ''we are delighted to find Tarang as our right outsourcing partner.

The Tarang team, which has deep understanding of the PoS and Payments domain, has been successfully working as an extended arm of Intersoft. We look forward to a fruitful and growing relationship where both the companies would mutually benefit.''
