SC quashes HC decision of staying officer's suspension order Lucknow | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST
The Supreme Court today quashed the Allahabad High court's decision of staying the suspension orders of Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officer Laxmikant Shukla over his controversial book 'Jati Raj'. A bench comprising Justices R V Raveendran and Markandey Katju pronounced the decision on a petition filed by the Uttar Pradesh government, official release said. Mr Shukla had made derogatory comments on the great leaders and big icons of the country in his book. Taking serious note of this, the UP government had suspended the PCS officer for voilating Civil Services code of conduct.
