Rajasthan Royals set a taget of 198 for Royal Challengers
Jaipur | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST

Brilliant batting by Graem Smith (unbeaten 75 off 49), S Asnodkar (50 off 44) and Shane Watson (unbeaten 46 off 27) helped Rajasthan Royals to set a victory target of 198 for Royal Challengers, Banglore at the SMS stdium here today.

Put to bat first, Rajasthan Royals had a flying strart as Greame Smith and Swapnil Asnodkar-the opening pair batted solidly putting on 109 for the first wicket before the later was caught by Misbah for 50 off 44 balls with seven fours and a six.

Shane Watson then joined Smith and the duo kept the score board moving rapidly with their hard hitting to almost all the bowlers.

The two remained unbeaten after having added 88 runs for the second wicket.

Earlier, before the start of the match a two minute silence was observed by the participating teams alongwith the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhra Raje and IPL Chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi to mark respect to the victims of serial bomb blasts in the town on last Tuesday in which 65 persons were killed.

Modi presented a cheque of rupees six crores to the Chief Ministers relief fund on this occasion.
