Police have arrested six people in connection with the mysterious death of a five-year-old girl here today. According to the police, Anchal Manor went missing from her home last night. A night-long search by the family and neighbours was in vain, and her body was found this morning. The police have arrested Mangesh Kapate and Nandu Kapate, who are Anchal's neighbours, along with Santosh, Satish, Ganesh and Shyam on suspicion. Meanwhile, irked over the incident, a mob set afire a pan kiosk, ransacked a wayside eatery and blocked traffic for a while in the area before the police persuaded the crowd to disperse. The police suspect that the girl might have been killed after being gang-raped. However, the the post-mortem report was awaited. An offence has been registered under Sections 363 (kidnapping) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the police said. -- (UNI) -- 17BY13.xml
