Four nabbed for attacking candidate Phagwara | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST
Police today arrested four persons on the charges of attacking and critically injuring a candidate when he was going to file nomination papers for the Panchayat Elections. Satnampura Police SHO Param Sunil Singh Randhawa told newspersons this afternoon that a police team, headed by DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, nabbed the four, identified as Mokha and Happy of Nai Abadi and Mahu and Ghunia of Hadiabad. They had been booked under Section 307, 326, 148, 149 of the IPC. The condition of the criticaly injured Gurbachan Ram was stable in the local civil hospital, the SHO said.
