PM hopes good sense will prevail among those opposing deal

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today hoped that good sense will prevail among those opposing the Indo-US nuclear deal saying the agreement was in the best interest of the country. He was asked at a press conference here on his return from a two-day visit to Bhutan whether the May 28 meeting of the UPA-Left coordination committee on the nuclear deal would signal the end of the accord. ''Let us wait and see. I hope good sense will prevail. I have always maintained that the deal is in the best interest of the country. More and more right-thinking people are in support of the deal, including former President APJ Abdul Kalam and Mr Brajesh Mishra, Principal Secretary to the former Prime Minister,'' he said.
