People should choose between INLD and Congress: Chautala
Hisar | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST

Indian National Lok Dal president and former Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala today said that Bhajan Lal had no political future and people should choose between the INLD and the Congress.

While addressing an election meeting at Koli and other villages of Adampur, Mr Chautala stressed that even the family members of Mr Bhajan Lal have realised that the Haryana Janhit Congress has no political future, so his son Mr Chander Mohan and his nephew Mr Dura Ram had shied away from campaigning for him.

Mr Chautala said that while Chander Mohan, who is also the deputy Chief Minister, and Dura Ram, a parliamentary secretary, accepted Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda as their leader, his younger son Mr Kuldeep Bishnoi, in various press statements, had declared that Mr Bhajan Lal was not physically fit for candidature of chief ministership.

''This was a sad state of affairs for Mr Bhajan Lal, who has now been left in the lurch,'' Mr Chautala added.

In the new political scenario, Mr Chautala said voters should now choose between him and Mr Hooda as only the INLD and the Congress were left in the fray.

He also touched the people's raw nerve by taking up issues of water and power scarcity and rising prices. He urged the people to vote for INLD candidate Prof Sampat Singh, saying he was his trusted and time-tested ally.
