Ban on unauthorised disposal of garbage in Gurgaon
Gurgaon | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST

The district administration has ordered a ban on unauthorised disposal of garbage on Faridabad Road here.

The decision to this effect was taken by Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Gupta today on the basis of various complaints as the Faridabad Road was being used as garbage dump much to the inconvenience of the area residents.

The DC has constituted a sub-committee under the area SDM to inspect the site. The committee has been asked to submit its report to the DC every fortnight after inspection of the spot. The committee would comprise SDM J S Sangwan, Estate Officers HUDA Ajay Malik and Yashender Singh and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Gurgaon, YS Gupta. The committee members were asked to put up a notice board for the information of general public that the place was not meant for garbage disposal. The ban order was passed during a meeting called to review the implementation of solid waste management programme. The officials present in the meeting apprised the DC that garbage from the premises of commercial establishments and private colonies was being thrown here in the night. Responding to this, the DC said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) would ensure that no one used the place as garbage dump. Anybody found doing so would be liable for strict action as per rules, the DC said. He also asked the officials to ensure disposal of solid waste in scientifically prescribed manner at the appointed dump on panchayat land in village Charkarpur.
