Surjeet's condition remains critical, brain damaged say doctors New Delhi | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST
The Condition of Communist Party of India (Marxist) veteran Surjeet Karkishan Singh Surjeet continues to remain critical with doctors declaring that his brain had suffered damages. While Mr Surjeet opens his eyes at times, he does not respond to voice stimuli, said the doctors elaborating that he does not respond when spoken to. ''His condition, however, remains very serious.'' Meanwhile, Prime Minsiter Manmohan Singh is slated to visit the ailing Marxist leader tomorrow. The state administration has geared up preparations for the visit and SPG commandos already deployed near the hospital. Mr Surjeet was admitted to the Metro Heart Hospital in Noida a few days ago for respiratory problems and continues to be under intensive care. -- (UNI) -- 17DI11.xml
