BSF jawan shoots himself dead Shillong | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST
A constable of the Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon at Purakhasia sector in Meghalaya, a BSF official said today. Constable Ram Kishan, of 35 BSF Battalion posted at Purakhasia sector in West Garo Hills district, bordering Bangladesh, shot himself in the head. The jawan took the extreme step using his INSAS rifle reportedly due to family problems. Meanwhile, the body was handed over to the police authorities for post-mortem, even as police registered a case in this connection. -- (UNI) -- 17CA25.xml
