Inspector in ACB net, assests worth Rs 70 lakh unearthed Hyderabad | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case of disproportionate assets today against P Narender Reddy, Inspector of Prohibition and Excise at Kodangal in Mahaboobnagar district. The case was registered after the sleuths unearthed assets worth more than Rs 70 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income during simultaneous raids at his office and residences at S R Nagar here and Togarapally in Medak district, a release from ACB said here. Apart from immovable assets that included two houses, two residential plots, 9.3 acres agricultural land, cash of Rs 60,000, one kg gold ornaments, two Maruti cars, Rs seven lakh in bank and insurance payments documents were unearthed during the raids, which were continuing. The accused was arrested. He would be produced before Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad. In another case, a Child Development Officer of ICDS project at Kapileswarapuram in East Godavari district Manda Varalakshmi and her subordinate M Nageswara Rao were arrested. Varalalakhsmi was trapped by ACB officials yesterday, when she accepted a bribe of Rs 9,000 from a complainant, the release added.
