Andhra boy is topper in Civil Services exams New Delhi | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST
Mr Adapa Karthik of Andhra Pradesh has topped the list of 734 successful candidates in the 2007 Civil Services Examinations conducted by the Union Public Services Commission. Miss Ashima Jain of Delhi, who secured seventh positionn is the topper among women of in the list of 286 candidates in General category, 266 Other Backward Classes, 128 Scheduled Castes and 54 Scheduled Tribe candidates. The written examinations were held in October-November 2007. The interviews for personality test were conducted in March-May this year. The results announced by the UPSC yesterday will be subject to the final outcome of the Special Leave Petition filed by Union of India in the Supreme Court against an order of the Madras High Court. The UPSC has set up a Facilitation Counter in its campus for providing information and clarification to the candidates regarding the examination and recruitment.
