Seven labourers electrocuted in Talcher Talcher | Saturday, May 17 2008 IST
Seven labourers were killed and four seriously injured after coming in contact with 11 KVA live wire at Sanada village, 25 km from here in Angul district, last night Police said today. The labourers were pulling a mixture machine used in road construction work which came in contact with the live wire lying on the road, police added. All the seven died on the spot, while the four injured were shifted to the Talcher Hospital in a very critical condition. The district administration has sanctioned ex-gratia to the next of kin of the deceased from the Red Cross fund. There was commotion for some time in the area as the local people demanded adequate compensation to the next of kin of the victims.
