AIDS patient kills wife, injures self

An AIDS patient killed his wife and later attempted suicide here last night. Police said Bhupendra Singh and Varsha, both bootleggers, had been married for five years. About 18 months back, Bhupendra was tested positive for AIDS, following which his wife Varsha refused to have physical relations with him. Things came to a head last night when Varsha threatened to abandon Bhupendra, police said. In a fit of rage, Bhupendra stabbed Varsha with a knife and killed her. Later, he inflicted injuries with the same weapon on his neck. He had been admitted to the hospital, police said. -- (UNI) -- 17BY3.xml
