BSF decides to deploy 1000 jawans more to check infiltration
New Delhi | May 16, 2008 9:12:35 PM IST

In a bid to check infiltration from across the Border with Pakistan, the Border Security Force (BSF) has decided to deploy 1000 more jawans along the Line of Control (LoC).

BSF Director General AK Mitra told this to media persons at the Kohra border outpost on the International border in the Samba region, which he visited to take stock of situation in the backdrop of infiltration attempt by militants recently.

Mitra said that the additional BSF troops would be equipped with latest electronic gadgets like night vision devices, thermal imagers and early warning systems to counter the infiltrators.

Admitting that nearly 3-4 militants had managed to cross the border, he said his Force foiled another infiltration bids by a big group of militants after receiving specific inputs about their "movement". (ANI)
