4-year-old boy still missing in Srinagar, police announce reward

Jammu and Kashmir police have announced an award of Rs 5000 for anyone giving information about the whereabouts of a 4-year-old boy missing from the old city since May 13 afternoon. A police spokesman said a massive hunt has been launched to trace the boy named Mehran Lateef Mir.

Mehran went missing from his Baba Pora, Habbadakadal residence when he was playing there after returning from school.

A massive protest was held by the local residents in the area demanding immediate rescue of the boy.

The spokesman said anyone providing any clue which could lead to the recovery of the boy would be awarded Rs 5000 and his name and address will not be disclosed.

Giving details about the Mehran, he said there is a mark of cut on his left arm and he was wearing yellow inner, cream coloured pant and a nilon chapel.

The boy was of wheatish complexion and is two feet and six inches in height.
