Tinsukia | Friday, May 16 2008 IST

At least six people, including a ten-year old child, were killed and ten others critically injured when their bus accidentally touched an 11 KV live power line at Kuwaripathar village near here this morning.

Official sources said the bus, carrying a marriage party, was returning from Moran when the iron trunks and almirahs, kept on the top of the vehicle, accidentally touched the loose 11 KV power line.

Immediately, the vehicle caught fire and six people were charred to death on the spot while ten others were shifted to the Tinsukia Civil Hospital in critical condition.
