CM rules out cancellation of IPL Jaipur match
Jaipur | Thursday, May 15 2008 IST

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today ruled out the possibility of cancellation of an IPL cricket match slated to be played at the SMS Stadium here on May 17, for security reasons in view of Tuesday's serial blasts.

Talking to reporters here Ms Raje said she did not endorse the idea of cancellation of the match for security reasons rather she would like to ensure that the match was played as per its schedule.

She said, ''All of us are required to send a strong message from Jaipur and this we can do by holding the match as per its schedule.'' The Chief Minister said she would also speak to IPL organisers in this regard.

Some foreign players, including Rajasthan Royals Skipper Shane Warne had expressed concern over the blast and related security threat to players.
