Kerala govt to take legal action against Swami: Balakrishnan Kozhikode | Sunday, May 11 2008 IST
Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today made it clear that the government would take necessary legal action against Swami Amrithachaithanya alias Santhosh Madhavan, wanted by Interpol in a cheating case. Talking to newspersons here, he said the government would never give any special protection to him considering as a saint. Stating that the police had already started independent investigations against him as soon as reports appeared in dailies. Mr Balakrishnan said it was for the Interpol to confirm whether there were two people with the same name of Santhosh Madhavan. However, the police could not register cases against him with a mere allegation, he said, and added that the cases could be registered only on the basis of facts and complaints. ''And that is why the police did not register cases against him,'' he added. -- (UNI) -- 11MS41.xml
