BJP all set to grab seats in LS election: Kalyan Singh Jaunpur | Sunday, May 11 2008 IST
Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president and Uttar Pradesh former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh today said his party is all set for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and will declare its candidates in July. Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Singh said, ''if party accomplishes the target of achieving 30 to 35 seats, forming the BJP government at the centre will be no dream.'' Selection of candidates plays important role for the dream to come true, he added. However, the candidate should have clean record, polite nature and should be acceptable to other party members. Making scathing attack on the UPA government at the centre, he said price-hike will be the main agenda in the election as the Central government had failed to curtail the increasing prices of essential commodities. Terrorism was another issue as terrorist activities had increased during the five-year-old UPA regime, he said adding Muslim appeasement policy was the root cause of it. He further defended himself over the Ram Mandir issue saying this was not a political issue as Ram does not belong to BJP, but to crores of Hindus. -- (UNI) -- 11DR81.xml
