SECR, Bilaspur wins Railway Football championship Kapurthala | Sunday, May 11 2008 IST
South East Central Railway (SECR), Bilaspur won the 65th All India Railway Football Championship defeating the hosts, Rail Coach Factory (RCF) by 2-1 in the final match played here today. Pankaj of RCF scored the first goal in the 13th minute of the first half, which was equalized by R C Murmur of SECR in the 23rd minute (1-1). Till half time both the teams were level at 1-1. In the second half, RCF strikers made a number of moves but could not convert it into goals. In the dying minute of play, Murmur of SECR scored the winning goal for his team. In another match, Central Railway, Mumbai defeated North East Frontier Railway, Guwahati by 3-0 to secure the third position in the tournament.
