Over 50 lakh tonne wheat arrival in Haryana Chandigarh | Sunday, May 11 2008 IST
The arrival of wheat in Haryana upto Mat 10 has touched 51.46 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) during the current Rabi season, while it was total 37.37 lakh MTs during the last year. While giving details here today, an official spokesman said that out of the total arrival in the mandis, 50.86 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by the government procuring agencies while only 59,752 metric tonnes wheat have been procured by the traders. He said that the highest, 7.21 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in Sirsa district followed by Karnal with 5.98 lakh metric tonnes. -- (UNI) -- 11DC12.xml
