Tenth class girl student done to death by 'lover' Kakinada | Thursday, May 1 2008 IST
A tenth class girl student was done to death by her 19-year-old neighbour as she spurned his advances at Vadapalem Pedapeta village under Kothapet police station limits. Police sources said Maggam Veerraju, an agricultural labourer, slit the throat of Mendu Lakshmi (15) at her residence yesterday while she was alone. He then changed his blood-stained clothes and fled from the village to escape arrest. On seeing the murder, the relatives of the girl attacked the house of Veerraju and roughed up his father. The Kothapet police was launched a manhunt for him. -- (UNI) -- 01DR1.xml
