He keyed in the words ''I am going to commit suicide'' in a chat window and then focused the web camera towards the ceiling fan. There was a plea of ''No... No...'' from the other end and a missed call to his mobile. A final year BDS student of Pariyaram Medical College, V S Karthik (21) of Vadakara, apparently decided to end his life after a debate with his lover on the internet. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room yesterday evening even as his web camera was still on. Police said the incident occurred on Thursday around 1900 hours. He chatted with his lover using web camera and debate went on to a threat of suicide. The last words in the computer was that he was going to commit suicide. ''No... No..'' was the reply from the other side. She even tried to call him to discourage him from taking the extreme step. However, the outside world came to know about the incident only when his friends who looked inside the room through the window after finding the door locked from inside. Police said the computer showed the auto shut down time at 1945 hrs. Yesterday the web camera was in working condition. However, the computer was in auto shut off mode. As the web camera remained focused on the ceiling fan, he is suspected to have made use of the internet to send the scenes of his death live to some one. The police removed the computer and the web camera from the hostel room. But the police was not ready to confirm whether the death had been recorded by the web camera linked to the computer. -- (UNI) -- 15MS7.xml
