Two ill cat family cubs recovering in Orissa forest campus Jeypore | November 22, 2006 4:35:38 PM IST
Forest officials in Jeypore in Orissa's Koraput District have confirmed that they are treating two ill cubs of the cat family. The cubs were found in the jungles of Jeypore in a state of bad health. They are now on the road to recovery. Forest officials said that the photographs of both cubs have been sent to wildlife experts to determine which cat family they belong to. The cubs are recovering in the campus of Jeypore Forest District. Villagers in the area have gathered to see the cubs. The forest authorities have been giving the cubs cow's milk and water, besides medicines prescribed by a local doctor after getting permission from the higher authorities. "I received a message that two cubs had been found in a jungle of Jeypore. We immediately left for the place and recovered these cubs and brought them to the forest range office. They are now kept in the campus of the office. But their condition is not good," said D D Behra, Range Officer, Jeypore Forest District. "They are too small, we are feeding them cow's milk, water and medicines," added D D Behra, Range Officer, Jeypore Forest District. The cubs will be later sent to the Nandankanan Zoo or some other zoo to ensure their safety and better treatment. (ANI)
