Around 25 garment shops were gutted in a fire that erupted before dawn Friday in Chandni Chowk market in the Indian capital's old quarters. Fire officials said 14 fire tenders battled the blaze for almost five hours. No one was injured in the accident. The fire broke out around 4.15 a.m. Chandni Chowk market, a major landmark in Delhi, came up during the Mughal era. It faces the 17th century Red Fort monument. (IANS)
