Thai princess accuses Jaipur's Maharani Gayatri Devi of manipulation Jaipur | July 28, 2006 8:10:01 PM IST
Thai Princess Priyanandana Rangsit, who is the widow of Prince Jagat Singh, has accused her mother-in-law Maharani Gayatri Devi of manipulating their holdings in a five-star hotel owned by the royal family of Jaipur. Princess Priyanandana Rangsit alleged that Maharani Gayatri Devi has reduced their holdings from 99 percent to a mere seven percent through a forged will of her husband. She told reporters on Friday that she was in the Pink City with her children Devraj and Lalitya and confirmed the filing of a case against Maharani Gayatri Devi. "I was shocked when in the beginning of this year I came to know that my husband's holdings in the fivetar Hotel, Jal Mahal, which used to be 99 percent earlier, has now been reduced to only seven percent. Initially, I didn't believe it, but later I came to know that my husband's shares have been transferred to my step brother-in-law Prithviraj Singh on the basis of a forged will declared in my husband Jagat Singh's name. They are doing it because they want to get hold of the entire family property and business." Priyanandana claims that Gayatri Devi and her step son Prithviraj Singh have conspired to forge a will supposed to have been endorsed by her husband who died in 1997. Priyanandana Rangsit has also targeted the management of Taj Group, the present lessee of the Jai Mahal for not helping her in the entire episode. The son of late Jagat Singh and Priyanandana Rangsit, Devraj Singh who also spoke to reporters on the occasion disclosed that on completion of his studies, he intends to stay in India and do social work.
